Human Resources Manager

The Qawra Palace Hotel is a hospitality ownership managed by the Vella family, with the most welcoming management and staff who provide their customers with efficient and pleasant service. Due to our Hotel's growth, an opportunity has arisen for an energetic Human Resources Manager to join our Management Team and oversee the Human Resources department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the Hotel’s HR team.
• Evaluate and develop Human Resources strategies.
• Update and Implement new Hotel Policies and Procedures.
• Identifying employee skill gaps and implementing training programmes with the respective head of departments.
• Taking charge of employee onboarding and presenting offers to successful candidates.
• Conducting hotel inductions and finalising employment documentation.
• Oversee the organisation of annual staff events.
• Contributing to the annual budgeting process.
• Oversee Payroll structure, work permits, and visa applications.
• Overall management of employee relations.
• Oversee head of the department and employee performance appraisal reviews.
• Co-ordinates and oversees orientation programme for new employees and ensures that it is in line with Hotel’s standards
• Implement new staff incentives.
• Developing disciplinary processes as needed in line with prevailing labour policies, employment laws, and regulations.
• Organise training sessions for management and supervisory levels on HR-related aspects, such as leadership skills, and other key HR areas as deemed necessary by the General Manager.
• In collaboration with the HR team, organises team-building activities.
• Keep a close relationship with team members and monitor their performance daily by conducting a walk around throughout the property.

• In possession of a diploma or degree level of education ideally within an HR-related field.
• Knowledge of local employment legislation.
• Previous experience within an HR environment in the hospitality industry or willing to expand your qualification in the Hospitality industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized.
• Fluent in both the English and Maltese languages.
