HireHound Recruitment in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Hotel Receptionist (Night Shift) to join their client's team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

The Hotel Night Receptionist is responsible for overseeing the front desk during nighttime hours, ensuring a smooth and secure operation of the hotel. This role involves assisting late-night check-ins and check-outs, handling guest requests, managing night audit processes, and maintaining the safety and comfort of all guests during the overnight shift. The Night Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring a positive guest experience even during late hours.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Guest Check-In and Check-Out

  • Welcome and assist guests arriving or departing during nighttime hours
  • Process check-ins, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services
  • Complete check-outs for departing guests, ensuring accurate billing and payments.

2. Night Audit and Reporting

  • Perform nightly audit tasks, including reconciling room accounts, balancing financial transactions, and generating reports
  • Prepare and distribute necessary financial and operational reports for management.

3. Guest Services and Inquiries

  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Provide assistance with late-night room service orders, maintenance issues, or emergency needs
  • Communicate with housekeeping, security, and maintenance teams as necessary.

4. Safety and Security

  • Monitor hotel premises through security systems, ensuring guest safety and property security
  • Respond to and report any emergencies, such as fire alarms or medical situations, in line with hotel protocols
  • Assist with enforcing hotel security policies, including checking guest IDs and maintaining a log of visitors.

5. Administrative and Front Desk Operations

  • Answer phone calls and handle guest bookings, modifications, and cancellations
  • Manage late-night arrivals and update the reservation system accordingly
  • Ensure the front desk and lobby areas are tidy and presentable during the shift.

6. Coordination with Day Staff

  • Communicate any significant issues or guest requests from the night shift to the morning team for follow-up
  • Prepare shift handover reports for management and front desk staff starting the next day shift.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or equivalent; hospitality-related coursework is a plus
  • Previous experience in a hotel reception or night audit role is preferred
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems and basic accounting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanor under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during the night shift
  • Attention to detail, especially when handling financial reports and guest accounts.
