IT Support Officer

MedservRegis Plc in Malta is currently looking to recruit an IT Support Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:

Based in Malta and reporting to the Group IT Officer, the ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the business’s IT systems and infrastructure. The role involves responding to user inquiries, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and maintaining IT equipment and software. The selected candidate will also be assisting the IT Department in any IT-related projects that may arise from time to time.

Roles & Responsibilities:  

• Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications 
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks 
• Troubleshooting systems and network problems 
• Diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults - replacing parts as required 
• Supporting the roll-out of new applications 
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a faulty or set up a system 
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports 
• Assist with IT and communications purchased, supported by the Procurement team and Management 
• Setting up new users' accounts and profiles dealing with password issues and setting accounts on mobile phones 
• Ensure handover of all active tasks to ensure continuity before leaving the site 
• Testing and evaluating new technology 
• Servicing laptops and mobile phone devices 
• Coordinating the setup of new offices (IT-related) 
• Server backups and replication 
• Organization of server cabinet (patch panels + switches) - server room 
• Manage Wi-Fi access points and network infrastructure 
• Punch clock software and hardware support 
• Monitoring internet connectivity 
• Monitoring uptime of CCTV and access control system 
• Occasional support to onsite clients.  

Education and Skills:   

• Holds one (1) year of experience, in a similar technical, hands-on role 
• Fluent in written and spoken English Language 
• Holder a valid work permit issued by respective Maltese authorities 
• Holder of a clean driving license (Cat. B)  
• Basic understanding in the following areas: Office 365 Admin / Active Directory Skills / Group Policy / Office 365 Applications 
• Experience in the following areas will be considered an asset: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 / Microsoft Dynamics / TC/IP / Hyper Virtualization / Sharepoint / Databases & SQL Server 2012 
• Eager to learn and pick up new technologies easily 
• Self-starter and team player  
• Dedicated to using IT and improvement of processes within the department and the Company 
• Prioritizing and managing multiple cases/issues  
• Holds strong interpersonal skills and communication skills 
• Willing to work flexible hours, which may include weekends and public holidays.
