Mobile Core Networks Engineer

Melita Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Mobile Core Networks Engineer to join their team on a full/part-time basis.

Overview:
We are currently looking for a Mobile Core Networks Engineer to join our Core Networks team!

As a Mobile Core Networks Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for the correct installation, operation, and maintenance of Melita’s state-of-the-art mobile data core network, focusing on the latest technologies such as IoT, 4.5G and 5G mobile data within Melita’s technical operations centre.

This highly technical role also focuses on delivering Malta’s mobile services consistently and reliably. Main responsibilities:

• Researching, recommending and implementing technical solutions
• Troubleshooting problems and providing timely corrective action
• Introducing new equipment while maintaining equipment under responsibility
• Report generation and data analysis
• Monitoring and analysing technical reports
• Preparing technical procedures and delivering training
• Leading projects

The ideal candidates would preferably have any of the following:

• A Degree/Diploma level of education in ICT, IT, networking, telecommunications or equivalent
• Experience with Ericsson mobile data core equipment and Cisco IP networking equipment
• A good track record in a similar role
• Experience in mobile data core and/or IP network projects
• Knowledge of mobile network protocols such as GTP, SS7 and Diameter
• Experience in protocol tracing and analysis
• Knowledge of Linux and scripting.
