Foster Clark Products Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Procurement Manager (Packaging) to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for assigned categories to maximize value and minimize supply risks for the Company by collaborating externally and internally with other departments (Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Strategy, R&D, Process Support); supplier relationship management and material replenishment process (where applicable); developing procurement team skills and capabilities; ensuring high levels of internal controls in procurement.

Key Accountabilities:
Business Needs and Markets Assessment

  • Industry Analysis
  • Supplier Analysis
  • Profile and document major categories (key stakeholders, R&R, market conditions, demand/supply)
  • Cost Analysis

Sourcing Strategy Development and Execution

  • Define sourcing strategy for the category, align with business and implement it, i.e. “what” the company needs to do including rationale/basis for the strategy. Set desired results, deliverables and time frame to achieve those
  • Develop tactical plans to deliver the strategy. Measure execution regularly.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Develop excellent working relationships with both internal customers and suppliers
  • Maintain supplier relationships to drive cost reductions while continually achieving the highest level of quality material
  • Negotiate contracts ensuring the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers in line with the strategy
  • Foster, capture and channel innovative ideas from suppliers to feed new offerings pipeline
  • Resolve supplier problems associated with over shipments, invoicing issues, obsolete, rework and scrap material
  • Qualify suppliers through Supplier Quality audits and continuously reviews supplier’s performance.

Supply Assurance

  • Develop back-up suppliers for critical and strategic items to ensure seamless transition and application of penalties and liabilities with suppliers at fault.

Budgeting

  • With support from costings develop and monitor execution of the procurement budget. Support finance with supplier payables projections.

Capability (People, Processes, Systems)

  • Ensure that the team has the right skills and tools to engage with suppliers to achieve the desired outcomes.

Latitude

  • Independence within budget, plans, policies and precedents.


Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Sciences, Supply Chain or Finance

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in procurement, 1 year experience in supervising/leading others
  • Career path: 3 years.
