MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Oversee the Distribution team as a holistic department as per the communicated team structure.
2) Create a culture where all divisions within the Logistics Department function together in synchrony to enable a smooth operation flow.
3) Coordinate tasks and duties of all employees within the Logistics Department
4) Oversee and maintain the fleet of vehicles in good working order.
5) Schedule maintenance of all equipment and vehicles as required.
6) Ensure that all staff report to work on time, in uniform and avail of the required PPE.
7) Liaise with the HR Manager to ensure that all Logistics staff are duly registered with relevant authorities and have the required certifications for their respective jobs.
8) Identify and organise training as necessary for the staff within your departments and keep logs of any training done.
9) Liaise with the Finance department to create a budget for the logistics department.
10) Coordinate staff vacation leave to ensure that all leave is availed of before year-end.
11) Maintain the Logistics offices, yard, workshop, and stores.
12) Coordinate stock levels required on a weekly basis with the production supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) At least 3 years of work experience in a similar post
2) Verbal and written communication skills
3) Organizational skills
4) Problem solving skills.
5) Leadership skills
6) High motivation to work in a fast-paced environment.
7) Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
