Logistics Assistant

Job Description
J&C Pisani Ltd, is looking to recruit a Logistics Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:

In this position the candidate is responsible to assist the Logistics Supervisor to organise and direct activities that encompass warehousing, delivery, and inventory control. The Logistics Assistant will work together with the Logistics Supervisor to coordinate these activities to ensure efficient utilization of warehouse, transportation resources, and to optimize the flow of goods from stores to end customer.

Other  Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supervising the receiving of goods, material storage & handling, inventory control
• Responsible for maintaining proper inventory control procedures and documentation for all product stocks
• Ensures that appropriate credit notes and debit notes are raised when goods are returned to warehouse, and the necessary checks are conducted with inventory and accounts department
• Assisting Logistics Supervisor in the loading area.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Post secondary education
• Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel
• Pro active and have a good working attitude
• Keen in assisting in the implementation and development of new operating procedures where necessary
• Able to work independently and in a multi tasking environment 
• Support others in a team approach

The company has been established since 1970 but the Pisani family who owns and runs the company has been involved in the food trade, since 1884. In 1984 the company set up a subsidiary company – DewFresh products Ltd- which began manufacturing a wide range of pork and beef processed products. J&C Pisani remained sole distributor of Dewfresh Products.
