Shop Assistant

A vacancy for the post of Shop Assistant has arisen within our retail shop Tat-Targa Pet Shop shop in San Gwann. The ideal candidate will provide assistance and excellent customer service to the customers who visit the shop while ensuring that the shop is maintained up to the established standards at all times.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Passionate about Pets

• The upkeep of the shop including maintaining clean displays, unpacking, re-shelving and storing of stock as well as coordination of received deliveries

• Operating the till and accurately handling cash, cheques and credit / debit card transactions

• Be flexible, organized, and proactive with a high sense of responsibility

• Assisting with regular and annual stock checks.

• Have a positive attitude.

Job responsibilities

• To ensure that the shop is always stocked, all items within the shop are properly displayed and correctly priced.

• To be knowledgeable about customer wants, complaints and suggestions.

• To collect, check and reconcile daily cash takings of the retail outlet.

• To ensure a high quality / standard of work and service throughout.

• Fluency in Maltese & English.

• Computer literate and in possession of a friendly but professional work ethic.

• Experience in retail is considered an asset.

• The shop must be kept clean and tidy.
