Chief Operations Officer(Construction)

Our client is well established in the Maltese Islands and they manage a number of prominent, varied,construction projects from inception to delivery

The Role

• You will ensure that construction projects that are agreed with the board are handled within established timeframes and scope
• You will lead a project team and ensure that the necessary resourcing is in place
• You will provide operational guidance and support to all departments
• You will evaluate and improve current operational processes to increase efficiency and quality
• Coordinate with engineers, architects and technical persons involved in the project
• Negotiate contracts with contractors and suppliers
• Monitor ongoing project progress and always ensure that they are delivered on time
• Provide both technical and operational expertise to all working staff
• Ensure ongoing progress of works on all the sites that are under management
• Prepare reports for the update of the Board and the CEO

• You must have solid experience in managing large construction projects
• Have in depth undertanding of construction procedures, construction project cycles, including needs assessment, planning, procurement and contracting, monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes
• Have strong leadership skills
• Have indepth knowledge of Health & Safety
• Have excellent negotiation skills
• Have the ability to manage professional technical employees

• Have a degree in Architecture, Engineering & or other related specialisations
• Have vast proven experience in managing large, varied construction projects
• Understand project risk management and mitigation well
• Experience in related construction contracts
• Having a Prince 11 certification or equivalent will be considered as an asset
