Plant Operations Assistant

Our client, whose operations focus on raw materials for building services, is seeking a Plant Operations Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Help oversee daily operations of silos and plant facilities.
• Coordinate and plan plant activities in collaboration with sales and credit control departments.
• Manage fleet operations, bowser loading, and stock handling.
• Aid in unloading operations of incoming vessels.
• Provide daily reports on plant operations, stock levels, and maintenance.
• Maintain plant facilities as needed.
• Ensure shop floor organization, plant facility upkeep, and promote health and safety practices.
• Maintain Company vehicles.
• Support the plant manager.
• Assist with miscellaneous tasks as required.

• Problem solving skills and demonstrated initiative in identifying areas of opportunity
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate
• A self-starter lead who takes responsibility for quality of results and requires minimal supervision
• Able to work flexible hours and during weekends when necessary

• Previous experience working within a seaport
• Able to drive a forklift and small heavy vehicles
• A relevant educational qualification
