One of our clients specialising in the Financial sector is currently looking to onboard a Middle Office Officer to join their team; This person will be reporting directly to the Head of Operations, and duties include the following:


  • Managing the day – to day activities of the Middle Office and acting as a reference point between Trade Desk and Back office
  • Posting and verifying the executed security transactions in the Portfolio Management System (PMS) on a daily basis;
  • Liaising with the various counterparties and brokers to ensure security transactions are executed and instructed as per Trade Desk instructions
  • Gathering all client instructions and instructing custodians in a timely manner for all types of Voluntary Corporate Actions, processing of these on the clients’ accounts, and distributing Corporate Actions notifications to the customers
  • Managing all Asset Transfer requests i.e. gathering relevant client instructions, posting of Asset Transfer instructions in the Portfolio Management System (PMS) and resolving any settlement issues
  • Liaising with Backoffice to resolve any reconciliation issues, payments queries and taking necessary action to escalate further if required
  • Preparing relevant Manager Information in a timely manner
  • Producing and distributing Valuation reports and other client reports
  • Contribute to the implementation and controls for daily processes
  • Assume responsibility in the reviewing of the Standard Operating Procedures that are in line and comply fully with the relevant up to date regulatory requirements including, but not exclusively, the MFSA’s standard license conditions, PML, Mifid II, MAD II, and the MFSA’s conduct of business rules
  • Any other duties as may as assigned from time to time by the Head of Operations to ensure the smooth running of the Middle office department
  • Previous work experience working in an Operations department within the Financial Industry (bank, custodian, brokerage
  • Good knowledge of the various types of Investment products (equities, bonds, mutual funds, FX)
  • Leadership skills with the ability to lead and coach other team members to work effectively as a team
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Education and Experience
  • Would ideally hold a degree level of education in a related field
