Bonnici Brothers Ltd. in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Head of HR to join their team on a full-time basis.

Based at our head office in Burmarrad, the selected candidate will be the key HR representative acting as a decisive and effective leader for the entire Group's HR functions and amongst others be responsible for:

  • Being the driving force behind the development and execution of HR strategies and procedures that align and promote our business goals, culture, and values
  • Assisting Senior Management by providing professional leadership support and solution-focused, legally compliant advice
  • Providing Senior Management with accurate and detailed reporting about all relevant HR functions
  • Being directly involved in all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and compliance
  • Providing professional leadership, support and development opportunities for the HR Team
  • Developing and implementing employee engagement programs to develop a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Managing employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and complaints
  • Managing compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, performance-related pay, and benefits packages
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations
  • Developing and managing HR budgets as well as researching and implementing HR technology solutions
  • Maintaining employee training records, developing and actively participating in group-wide training needs analysis programs
  • Conducting regular HR audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.


The ideal candidate should be:

  • A strong and decisive leader with at least 5 years of experience in HR including experience in leadership roles
  • A highly trustworthy, well-rounded person with a high level of integrity and discretion
  • A qualified professional holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Experienced with HR practices within different industries including the Construction, Retail, Logistics, or similar industries. Excellent knowledge of the payroll process is highly desirable
  • An excellent communicator with excellent interpersonal and people management skills
  • Analytical, with a proven track record of developing and executing HR strategies that support business objectives and create a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Knowledgeable of Maltese employment laws and regulations and ideally hold a strong understanding of visa processes and immigration-related policies
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Willing to keep an open mind and provide assistance and guidance to our diverse workforce
  • In possession of a driving license and willing to travel locally.
