Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay in Malta is currently looking to recruit an Area Learning & Development Executive to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
Reporting directly to the Area L&D Manager, this position requires an individual with a proven track record of being supportive, hands-on, and business-focused, by taking ownership of assigned activities.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating closely with key business partners, both internal and external, ensuring that all communications are undertaken and delivered in a timely manner
  • Planning, coordinating and delivering Hotel Inductions for the hotel on a bi-weekly basis
  • Carrying regular training needs analysis with HODs
  • Designing and developing specific departmental training to improve service delivery/performance
  • Overseeing, compiling and registering employees to attend Statutory Training such as; Food Handling Licenses and Food Screening Tests, GDPR, Code of Conduct, and FLHSS as indicated by local legislation
  • Adopting a flexible approach to working hours, observing the business at different times of the day and on different days of the week and at weekends/during important events as required
  • Undertaking quality assessments in areas of the hotel operations periodically with cross-referencing to SOPs, LQA standards and Review Pro, to help the Area L&D Manager to assess development needs and undertake analysis for focus areas
  • Carrying out presentations and show rounds of the hotel for educational establishments when required
  • Ensuring that all trainees’ documentation is secure, accurate and well-maintained. That documentation and training compliance records are available and compliance levels are attained
  • Analysing and communicating guest feedback reports with hotel management
  • Acting as a liaison between Executives, Heads of Department, Managers, Team Members and suppliers, ensuring all HR messages are communicated and meetings arranged as requested.


The ideal candidate will: 

  • Preferably have worked in an operational role within a hotel
  • Pro-active with a hands-on and finesse approach
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage work ensuring that tasks assigned are delivered
  • Ability to find creative solutions, offering recommendations
  • Personal integrity, with the ability to work in a hotel environment that demands excellence
  • Be effective at the time and priority management
  • Be confident and self-assured
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work on his/her own
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Be conversant with MS Office Applications, preferably PowerPoint Excel
  • Have a hospitality, HR or Psychology related professional course
  • Have an L&D background with some experience in training others or public speaking
  • Have a passion for brand values and keeping engaged with recent industry trends.
