Project Engineer

Position Description:

Kencar Group of Companies in Malta is looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Title: Project Engineer

Job Purpose:

The Project Engineer will assist with the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. He/she will be responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and will establish inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project

Main Duties (KPIs):

1) Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring of assigned engineering projects;

2) Following specification and calculations to create various technical drawings;

3) Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with ACAD systems;

4) Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations;

5) Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans and personnel performance and reporting on the project’s status;

6) Cooperating and communicating directly with the Operations Manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project’s profitability;

7) Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions;

8) Developing specifications for the project’s needed equipment;

9) Making inspections on project site, preparing site reports, designs and drawings and all related variation quotes and bills;

10) Ensuring the project’s compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards and specification.

Requisites:

1) Bachelor of Science in engineering or architecture;

2) Degree from a technical college also acceptable;

3) Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software;

4) Excellent project management and supervision skills and

5) Excellent organisational, time management, leadership and decision-making skills.
