HireHound Recruitment in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Hotel Receptionist (Day Shift) to join their client's team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

The Hotel Receptionist (Day Shift) is responsible for delivering outstanding guest service, ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience for all guests. Acting as the face of the hotel, the receptionist will greet guests with professionalism, handle reservations, process payments, and assist with guest inquiries. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining smooth front desk operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Guest Check-In and Check-Out

  • Greet guests upon arrival, ensuring a warm and friendly welcome
  • Efficiently handle check-ins, issue room keys, and provide essential hotel information
  • Process guest check-outs, ensuring accurate billing and payment.

2. Reservation Management

  • Handle phone, email, and in-person reservations, making sure guest preferences are noted and accommodated
  • Update the hotel's reservation system with guest information, special requests, and room assignments.

3. Guest Services

  • Assist guests with inquiries regarding hotel services, local attractions, and transportation
  • Address guest complaints and issues, resolving them promptly or escalating to the appropriate department
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to fulfill guest requests (e.g., extra amenities, room maintenance).

4. Billing and Payments

  • Process cash, credit card, and other forms of payment accurately
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and ensure that billing discrepancies are resolved.

5. Concierge Duties

  • Provide recommendations for local dining, entertainment, and attractions
  • Assist with booking tours, transportation, or restaurant reservations for guests.

6. Administrative and Office Tasks

  • Manage incoming phone calls and direct them to appropriate hotel departments
  • Organise and distribute incoming mail, and deliveries for guests and staff
  • Maintain an organised and professional front desk area.

7. Safety and Security

  • Monitor hotel lobby and entrance to ensure guest and staff safety
  • Maintain a visitor log and issue room keys according to hotel security policies
  • Report any suspicious activities or safety concerns to the management.

8. Additional Tasks

  • Assist with group bookings, special events, and VIP guest services as needed
  • Support the front office team in daily operations, including managing guest requests or inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or equivalent; hospitality or tourism-related coursework is a plus
  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or as a hotel receptionist preferred
  • Proficiency with hotel reservation software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Friendly, outgoing demeanor and a passion for delivering top-notch guest service
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest complaints professionally.
