Job Description

Hili Ventures is seeking to recruit a Chief Internal Auditor who will be responsible for strengthening governance processes at Hili Ventures and its subsidiaries. In today’s business environment, a sharpened focus on risk management is critical to our international organisation and the role calls for a leader who will ensure robust controls and consistency across the group. Interacting with senior management and the board of directors regularly, the Chief Internal Auditor will conduct independent assessments of financial and operational procedures, policies and risk profiles and put forward and follow up on recommendations, to improve operations. Reporting to the chairman of the Audit Committee, the Chief Internal Auditor will ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards and best practice, and follow up on the implementation status of audit recommendations. Partnering with internal stakeholders, the candidate must be willing to raise difficult issues with both senior management and the board. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the right attitude and skill set, with independence, objectivity and integrity being fundamental to the role. They will also be naturally inquisitive, have a keen eye for detail and possess business acumen, technical and communication skills. While the role is based in Malta, the company would be willing to consider remote placement in any one of its markets - for the right candidate. THE REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience in internal or external audit, ideally with a large multinational company, and have an accounting or internal audit qualification. Excellent written and verbal communication in English together with proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are also required. The preferred candidate will be a critical thinker with in-depth knowledge of enterprise and risk management and corporate governance. A willingness to travel is also essential due to the nature of the role.
