Auto Sales Ltd (Kind's), the authorised distributor in Malta for Mercedes-Benz, smart, Renault and Dacia passenger vehicles and FUSO Trucks is seeking a strategic and commercially minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its finance function and support the continued growth and success of the organisation.

This is a key leadership position offering the opportunity to play a central role in shaping the company's financial strategy, driving business performance, and supporting executive decision-making within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Role

As Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring robust financial management, regulatory compliance, effective risk management, and strategic financial planning. Reporting directly to the Board and the designated Director, you will work closely with senior leadership to support business objectives and drive sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all finance and accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting 

• Prepare and oversee annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial plans 

• Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and operational  

        effectiveness 

• Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements 

• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, insurance providers, and other financial stakeholders 

• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate controls, policies, and mitigation measures 

• Support investment decisions, business development initiatives, and capital expenditure planning through detailed financial analysis 

• Provide regular financial reports and insights to the Board of Directors and senior management to support informed decision-making 

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement 

• Drive the ongoing enhancement of financial systems, processes, and internal controls 

 

Requirements & Skills

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent) 

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably as a Financial Controller, Finance Director, or CFO 

• Strong knowledge of Maltese financial, taxation and regulatory requirements 

• Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis 

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights 

• Experience managing audits, banking relationships and corporate financing activities 

• Excellent leadership and people management skills 

• Advanced proficiency in financial reporting systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities 

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels 

• Fluency in English and Maltese (written and spoken)

Following the end of World War II and in light of the steady growth of the automotive industry at the time, the company made contact with Renault of France to import Renault to Malta, which was followed by a deal with Daimler AG of Germany. Today, the company is the only authorised importer and distributor of Mercedes-Benz, Renault, smart and Dacia vehicles, Fuso trucks, Silence, Mutt, Tisto and Daytona motorbikes.
