MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Primary Responsibilities

1.1 Authority Officers will support Malta Further and Higher Education Authority on all administrative processes at the assigned Unit (though not exclusively), as well as other areas as may be designated by the CEO from time to time. Moreover, the officer may be assigned the following areas of competence:

a) Funding Framework

b) Quality Assurance Framework

c) Student Affairs

d) International Affairs

e) Statistical Framework and Org. Knowledge Management

1.2 Responsible for the development of assigned areas of responsibility as delegated by the Authority and the CEO from time to time

1.3 Develops intellectual leadership in the designated area of responsibility assigned by the CEO and superiors

1.4 Develops the relevant capabilities within the Authority to address the designated area

1.5 Informs and advises superiors on designated areas

1.6 Drafts reports on areas of competence and will review policies from the perspective of the designated area/s

1.7 Supports the CEO and superiors to deliver the objectives specified in Clauses 65 and 66 of the Education Act Cap 327

1.8 Collaborates with all stakeholders on issues in the related area of responsibility

1.9 Sources, compiles and analyses the information required to support the above functions

1.10 Any other function that may be assigned by the CEO and Management.

2. Ancillary

1. Participates in and contributes to initiatives related to the Authority

2. Attends and participates in events both locally and abroad as may be directed by the Authority

3. Undertakes any other assignments that may be related or conducive to the attainment of any of the above

4. Supports Senior Management efficiently and effectively

5. Ensures that all assigned tasks are retained in high confidence

6. Assists in other functions as may be required.

Internal Relations

1. Maintains a professional relationship with all MFHEA employees

2. Works in close consultation with and provides advice to the Senior Management and any other MFHEA employees

3. Provides the necessary assistance and contributes to the Authority’s overall efficiency and effectiveness.

External Relations

  • Represents and works in the best interest of the organisation
  • Tasks and duties of the job holder are not limited to the above listed and employee may be required to assist other departments.

Administration and application as per Para 1 above.

Eligibility requirements and personal qualities – The qualifications, experience, skills, and other attributes required of the applicant.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

A full MQF level 6 degree from a recognised university.

  • Very good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational / administrative skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Very good time management skills and demonstrable ability to meet deadlines
  • Very Good computer skills.

  • A team player
  • Able to manage sensitive situations and information with confidentiality, tact and empathy, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Discernment and discretion are essential
  • Analytical mindset and gives attention to detail.
