This Role:

  • Working as part of the IT Helpdesk team who are the first line of IT support for Trust Payments staff seeking assistance using and accessing the company’s IT systems and services
  • Accountable for the installation and configuration of computer hardware and software within the company, and the configuration of user accounts
  • Assist and maintain mobile and desk telephony systems
  • Assist and maintain audio-visual equipment, meeting room equipment, and collaborative work tools.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as first-line assistance for staff seeking technical assistance for all IT issues raised via the Zendesk ticketing system, over the phone, and in-person
  • Diagnose hardware and software faults, document discoveries and interactions within the ticketing system, and escalate issues to 2nd and 3rd line assistance as needed
  • Troubleshoot and repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals. Liaising with third-party suppliers for assistance of equipment under warranty
  • Undertake user account management tasks, onboarding and offboarding of staff, and maintain records of permissions granted or revoked
  • Install and configure laptops and desktops for deployment to end users
  • Supply and maintenance of desk IT equipment and undertake IT equipment moves by office reorganisations
  • Maintain an accurate inventory record of hardware and user permissions
  • Server room organisation and maintenance work (server rack mounting, UPS installation, network and power cable runs)
  • Perform the office IT procurement processes, locating suppliers and obtaining quotes, keeping within Budget guidelines
  • Procure, test, and manage company mobile phones
  • Generator and/or air conditioning unit monitoring and testing
  • Create and maintain technical and non-technical instructional articles hosted on the company self-help portal
  • Occasional requirement for off-site IT duties, in assistance of company events
  • Comply with all legislation and codes of practice appropriate to the role
  • Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and relevant directives in all activities
  • Compliance with all relevant aspects of the GDPR as appropriate to the role.


Experience & Skills:

  • Able to work on your own as well as part of a team
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 kilograms
  • Valid Maltese passport
  • Have superb communication skills in person, online, and in written form
  • To be able to communicate complex technical information simply and clearly to people of all levels of experience and role


Experience require within:

  • IT assistance and/or Customer Service role, awareness of the challenges of maintaining a good workspace environment
  • Assisting and maintaining all aspects of Laptops, Monitors, Mobile Phones, and general desktop equipment
  • Using Microsoft 365 Admin Centre for user account management
  • Installing/troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 11 and Microsoft Office packages
  • Using a customer service ticketing tool, such as Zendesk
  • Basic level maintenance and support of server equipment
  • Writing training materials, undertaking direct training and guidance of users on the use of IT equipment


Desirable skills:

  • Audio-Visual equipment
  • Atlassian suite (Jira and Confluence)
  • Supporting access issues to AWS
  • Supporting POS equipment
  • Entry level IT qualifications
  • Apple MacOS experience.
