Infrastructure Relationship Lead

Reporting to the Head of Data Center Services, this role serves as the key liaison between the Infrastructure & IT Operations function and both internal stakeholders and external technology vendors. The successful candidate will oversee vendor relationships, service governance, contract management, and infrastructure service delivery, ensuring operational performance, capacity planning, and commercial agreements support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic relationships with third-party infrastructure vendors, ensuring service quality, contractual compliance, and alignment with business requirements.
• Own and oversee Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and vendor contracts, ensuring timely renewals and effective governance.
• Negotiate and evaluate commercial engagement models to achieve operational efficiency and cost optimisation.
• Monitor vendor performance against agreed KPIs, driving service improvements and escalating critical issues where necessary.
• Analyse infrastructure utilisation, cloud consumption, and software licensing to optimise costs, capacity, and resource allocation.
• Lead vendor accountability for incident resolution, Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), and the implementation of permanent solutions.
• Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies, vendor innovation programmes, funding initiatives, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with Infrastructure & IT Operations teams to support project delivery, incident management, and continuous service improvement.
• Track and coordinate operational activities and infrastructure-related tasks through Jira.

Please note that this is an urgent vacancy with a short hiring timeline. As a result, we are currently seeking candidates already based in Malta who have the legal right to work without requiring a new work permit or a work permit transfer.

Requirements

• Good understanding of vendor relationship management, IT infrastructure, and IT operations.
• Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and core infrastructure technologies.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or equivalent cloud knowledge would be considered an asset.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Located in Malta with local experience.

Education and Experience

• A Degree in Information Technology, Computing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Around two years' experience in an IT leadership, vendor management, or similar infrastructure-focused role.
