Technical Support Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Technical Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking, with skills equivalent to or certified at the Cisco CCNA level. You will play a critical role in providing frontline technical support, diagnosing network-related issues, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our networking infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide frontline technical support by responding promptly to network-related inquiries and issues
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network connectivity problems involving routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points
• Configure, install, and manage networking equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Monitor network performance, ensuring system availability, security, and reliability
• Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and network configurations accurately and comprehensively
• Collaborate with senior IT staff and vendors to implement network upgrades, optimizations, and security measures
• Educate and assist end-users on networking best practices and common troubleshooting steps

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical support with a strong focus on networking
• Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge and experience
• Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, etc.) and troubleshooting tools
• Experience with firewall configuration, VPNs, and wireless network setups
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent communication skills to support non-technical users effectively
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Have excellent troubleshooting skills and possess the ability to analyze problems rationally and provide solutions
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills across all organisational levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Possess a clean and valid driving licence

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with cloud networking and security protocols
• Knowledge of Windows and Google network environments
• Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.)
