Warehouse Operator

Lidl in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Operator to join their team on a full/part-time basis.

Summary:
Our warehouse operators (warehouse maintenance and cleaning assistants) are essential for our warehouse.
Keeping our busy stores fully stocked is a big responsibility.
That's the job of our warehouse, matching supply and demand. With goods of all kinds flowing in and out of our shops, stock must be received, stored, and delivered on time and in excellent condition.

We are currently looking for new warehouse employees, offering different types of contracts to suit your needs (part-time and full-time).

What you'll do:
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, our Warehouse Operators take care of keeping the warehouse facilities clean and tidy.
They also support in transporting and organizing recyclable materials which are then handled accordingly with our suppliers.

The main duties will be:

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure warehouse processes are strictly adhered to
• Handle the exchange of pallets within the designated areas of the warehouse
• Check and handle the returns of goods from shops
• Handle the differentiated waste collection areas within the warehouse
• Check, handle and store recyclable materials and non-recyclables within the warehouse
• Handle materials utilized for shop renovations
• Keep the warehouse clean ensuring potential hazards are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

What you'll need:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• The flexibility to work different shifts including night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Able to handle fork lifters and palletizers to move around materials (training provided)
• Ability to work in a team or independently, ensuring high-level operations standards
• Willing to work hard in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent knowledge of the English language is a must
• Previous experience working in warehousing/storekeeping would be considered an asset.

Remuneration:

• Different options of contract are available: full-time, 40 hours per week, organised on 5 days (8 hours per day) or part time, of minimum of 25 hours per week, organised on 5 days (5 hours per day)
• Basic salary: starting from €6,33 per hour 
• Any minutes worked over 40 hours per week are paid at time and a half
• Sundays and public holidays are paid at double rate
• Night shift allowance when applicable
• Everything is paid by the minute!
