SL Ship Management Company Limited, a company in the Falzon Group, is looking for a Technical Purchasing Officer to join its marine division. The role is ideal for a qualified individual who may be working in a different industry but who has a passion for maritime affairs. The role focuses on ensuring timely procurement and delivery of spare parts to the company’s vessels. The selected applicant will be given on-the-job training and will be supervised by experienced Engineers.
The job includes:
Processing the vessels’ technical requests to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of parts and consumables
Managing the procurement process, from sourcing to effecting on-board delivery of required items
Assisting in the preparation of refit specifications in terms of procurement and following up on the timely delivery of spare parts.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
A recognised technical degree or diploma
A passion for the maritime industry
A multi-skilled and organised person
Excellent report skills in English, both spoken and written
Previous working experience of at least three years
Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
The selected applicant would also be focused, energetic, project-oriented and a team player. He/she will be supervised for the first year until he/she grows in this challenging role.
