Shipping Officer

Simonds Farsons Cisk Plc in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Shipping Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
Reporting directly to the Shipping Manager, the chosen candidate will primarily be responsible for executing duties related to the shipping operations of the Farsons Group.
This encompasses both import and export activities, necessitating meticulous adherence to customs and excise protocols and timely submission of declarations.

The chosen candidate will be mainly required to:

• Process and submit documentation to customs, government departments, shipping agents, Freeport, and port authorities
• Verify and certify freight and insurance charges
• Obtain import/export shipping cost quotations and report to higher management for cost minimization
• Process and verify excise duty submissions to the Customs/Excise Department
• Coordinate closely with clearing and forwarding/shipping agents and company employees to ensure timely document clearance
• Conduct necessary calculations and cost assessments on incoming documents and correspondence.

• An ‘A’ level standard of education or a related diploma in shipping/logistics or any other relevant field
• Prior experience in Logistics and/or Shipping
• Good command of English (spoken and written)
• Being computer literate and reasonably familiar with internal systems
• Able to multi-task, and work under pressure to meet agreed deadlines.
