Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care:

  • Assist with daily personal hygiene routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Support with mobility, including help with moving around the home
  • Administer or assist with medications according to the care plan.

Companionship:

  • Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging the client in conversations and activities to reduce loneliness.
  • Accompany the client on outings, social events, and appointments as required.

Household Management:

  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living environment.
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Assist with grocery shopping and other errands.

Transportation:

  • Drive the client to medical appointments, social activities, and other necessary outings using the client’s vehicle.
  • Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, safe, and meets all legal requirements.

Health Monitoring:

  • Monitor and report any changes in the client’s health or behavior to healthcare professionals or family members.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily logs, medication records, and incident reports.

Communication:

  • Liaise with healthcare providers, family members, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated care.
  • Provide regular updates on the client’s well-being to concerned parties.

Emergency Response:

  • Be prepared to respond to any emergencies, including calling for medical help or administering first aid if necessary.
  • Develop and follow an emergency plan in collaboration with the client and family.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a caregiving role, preferably as a live-in carer.
  • Driving Licence: A valid EU driving licence with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform caregiving tasks with compassion and patience.
  • Basic cooking and housekeeping skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of elderly care or care for individuals with specific needs (e.g., dementia, physical disabilities).
  • Certification: Relevant caregiving qualifications and first aid certification are desirable.
  • Background Check: Must pass a background check and have references.
