HireHound Recruitment in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Live-In Carer o join their client's team on a full-time basis. 

Overview:

This role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the client's well-being, and fostering a safe and comfortable living environment. The Live-In Carer stays in the client's home, offering companionship, emotional support, and practical assistance to promote a high quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Personal Care

  • Assist with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help with mobility and transfers, using equipment as needed (e.g., hoists, wheelchairs).
  • Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and monitor the client’s health.

2. Daily Living Support

  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals, accommodating dietary preferences and restrictions.
  • Assist with household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Provide assistance with shopping, errands, and attending appointments.

3. Companionship & Emotional Support

  • Offer companionship and engage in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Listen to and engage in conversations with the client, respecting their preferences and interests.
  • Encourage social interaction and participation in hobbies or community activities.

4. Health Monitoring

  • Monitor and report any changes in the client’s health, behaviour, or condition to relevant healthcare professionals or family members.
  • Support the client in following care plans and maintaining any necessary medical routines.
  • Keep accurate records of care provided, medication administered, and any significant events.

5. Safety and Emergency Response

  • Ensure the client’s home is safe and free from hazards.
  • Respond promptly and calmly to any emergencies, providing first aid or calling for assistance as needed.
  • Assist with any necessary evacuations or emergency procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in caregiving, healthcare, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a carer or in a similar role, preferably with live-in care experience.
  • Strong knowledge of personal care and hygiene practices.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic with a genuine interest in helping others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Physically fit to assist with mobility and manual handling tasks.
  • First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
  • Background checks and references required.
