Mechanical/Electrical Technician

Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical/Electrical Technician to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including but not limited to HVAC systems, machinery, electrical wiring, and fixtures.
2. Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
3. Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
4. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to understand system layouts and configurations.
5. Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and maintenance staff, to coordinate projects and resolve complex issues.
6. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
7. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs performed.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a Mechanical/Electrical Technician or similar role, with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting techniques and repair methods.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
4. Ability to use hand and power tools, as well as specialised testing equipment, safely and effectively.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
8. Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed.
