CareMalta is currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Operator to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Operator to join our team and oversee the maintenance and upkeep of one of our facilities. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of maintenance tasks, from electrical and plumbing repairs to general facility maintenance. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance on various equipment and systems, including pumps, kitchen equipment, and laundry machines
  • Perform breakdown repairs on appliances and equipment as needed
  • Perform various maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs (replacing washers, faucets, and seals), installation of light bulbs, doors, cabinets, panelling, tiles, computer cables, and painting (interior and exterior walls) when necessary
  • Maintain the efficient function of boilers
  • Promptly report any unusual occurrences or potential damage to the Facility Manager
  • Coordinate and assist in special projects as directed by management
  • Monitor work performed by outside contractors and ensure quality standards
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with residents, contractors, and colleagues
  • Adhere to safety standards and comply with company policies
  • Manage inventory controls to ensure cost-effective operations
  • Maintain monthly inspection and maintenance records for building and equipment
  • Handle store requisitions and maintain maintenance stores in an orderly manner
  • Perform any other work directed by respective managers
  • Attend training programs/courses to enhance skills and knowledge. 


Skills and Requirements:

  • A methodical approach to work and problem-solving 
  • Proficiency in English and Maltese Language will be considered as an asset  
  • Basic computer skills
  • License A qualification will be considered an asset 
  • An ability to multi-task and to work well under pressure
  • A Diploma in maintenance-related work or practical experience working in maintenance.
