Maintenance Person – Full-Time Position

Homemate Co. Ltd, a leading DIY and home improvement retailer in Malta operating multiple outlets across the island, is currently seeking to recruit a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Person to join its growing team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all company premises are well-maintained, safe, and presented to a high standard at all times.

Role Overview

The Maintenance Person will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance duties across all Homemate outlets, warehouse facilities, and surrounding areas. This is a varied and practical role requiring a proactive individual who can work independently, solve problems on the spot, and support store teams with operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair works across all Homemate premises, including shops, warehouse, and external areas
• Ensure all facilities, fixtures, fittings, and equipment are kept in good working order and presentable condition
• Perform minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of basic building or shop-related issues
• Assemble furniture, shelving units, display stands, and other retail fixtures required for shop floor setups and merchandising changes
• Assist in store set-ups, relocations, and refurbishments when required
• Visit clients’ homes or sites when needed to carry out furniture assembly or assess repair work that can be completed on-site or scheduled for service
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards
• Report any major faults, safety hazards, or required specialist repairs to management in a timely manner
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle (if assigned) in good condition

Requirements

• Fluent in both Maltese and English (spoken and written)
• Valid Maltese driving licence
• Previous experience in maintenance, handyman work, carpentry, or a similar practical role will be considered an asset
• Ability to use basic tools and carry out manual tasks safely and effectively
• Good problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
• Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
