Inspire Foundation in Malta is  is looking to recruit a full-time Maintenance Operator to join the Facilities team.

The Role:

The chosen candidate shall be responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of equipment and facilities. This includes performing maintenance duties or contracting service providers and carrying out preventative maintenance as required. Our Maintenance Operators also provide administrative assistance to the Facilities Manager and assist with the day-to-day upkeep of our premises.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform facilities and maintenance works and repairs. These include but not limited to: working at heights, usage of electrical tooling, mechanical equipment or other facilities upkeep related works;
  • Sourcing relevant vendors and service providers;
  • Keeping track of supply and material inventories ensuring the inventory is always up-to-date;
  • Purchasing any equipment, tools, or materials that may be required. This includes also their upkeep. The maintenance operator assigns costs and expenses to the relevant budget lines;
  • Handling of purchasing of maintenance items whilst adhering to budget requirements;
  • Supports the Facilities Manager with administrative tasks as needed from time to time;
  • Updating and filing maintenance logs for all machinery;
  • Reviewing work related procedures and making recommendations for improvement;
  • To assist as required during Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events and supervise the volunteers during work carried out at our sites.
  • Work alongside team member colleagues from across the organisation to ensure a smooth process for an effective and smooth maintenance schedule;
  • Liaise with the purchasing for purchases needs for the respective required works;
  • Fully abide to health and safety requirements to ensure the safe working condition for self and our learners.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Good knowledge of electricity, carpentry and plumbing among other technical skills;
  • Have good knowledge of troubleshooting techniques in order to determine exact problems and tackle them accordingly;
  • Exhibit good mechanical skills to handle equipment to avoid causing injuries to self and others on ground;
  • Have the ability to evaluate computer related work orders in accordance with accuracy;
  • Valid driving license.

Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunisation.
