Maintenance Officer

Land Registration Agency in Malta is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Officer (AO) to join their team on a full-time basis.

You will be responsible for the infrastructural maintenance of the Land Registration Agency’s properties both in Malta and Gozo. This role involves overseeing the planning, coordination and maintenance or general repairs within the assigned facilities. You will ensure that the Agency is operating effectively within the parameters of Health and Safety Regulations.

This is what I will be doing:

• Responsible for managing all repair and maintenance interventions requests raised by management at both Malta and Gozo offices.
• Coordinate with the Health and Safety Officer of the Agency the general cleaning operations of the Agency to ensure that all areas are clean and fit for purpose.  
• Ensure that Health and Safety signage, as approved by the Health and Safety Officer, is adequately installed, and maintained.
• Manage and be responsible for the designated staff that fall under remit which includes the overseeing of attendance, leave application and overtime schedules.
• Exercise independent judgement on the type of maintenance work needed and oversee the implementation of such work from start to finish. 
• Use one’s own expertise to attend to minor works at the offices by using the necessary tools and equipment provided by the Agency.
• Investigate and draft reports on damages incurred on property assets both infrastructural and inventory.
• Oversee the logistics of the Agency which includes the Agency’s owned and/or hired vehicles.
• Liaise with Government entities and officials to ensure that any maintenance work is up to standard.
• Any other duties as may be required by the Executive Head of the Agency or his delegate.

You will excel in your role as you will:

• Develop reports pertaining to security, grounds and transportation when deemed necessary;
• Develop structured operations and ensuring all aspects of the services are properly maintained and documented;
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of advances in technology, new legislation and improvements in the security and transport management solutions;
• Preparation for annual budgets, and business planning for the department;

Qualifications and Experience

The minimum qualifications eligible for shortlisting are a recognised MQF Level 5 Diploma (subject to a minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVET credits or equivalent) in a Technical or Management field

The academic qualification shall be coupled with: 

• Experience in attending to simple maintenance tasks

• A valid driving license, Category B.

A recognised MQF level 4 certificate and/or diploma in a technical area or a comparable qualification. In the event of A’levels, two (2) A’levels relating to the field shall also be considered.

The academic qualification shall be coupled with: 

• A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in similar position in a technical role

• Experience in attending to simple maintenance tasks

• A valid driving license, Category B.
