IRIS THAUMAS Ltd is looking for a General Maintenance Person to join one of their client's teams. The candidate will be conducting routine inspections of our client's hotel premises and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and handling and repairing machines and equipment.
About the Client:
Our client is a family-run and award-winning hotel and is located in St. Julian's.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
Performing preventative maintenance.
Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
Coordinating with colleagues/departments to provide necessary room checks before arrival.
Evaluating property for any damage.
Ensuring neat and clean work area always.
Installing required signs on the property.
Reviewing equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Monitoring equipment inventory.
Requirements and Skills:
Proven maintenance experience.
Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
Experience performing routine maintenance.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Strong organisational and follow up skills.
Attention to detail.
Professional presentation and attitude.
Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
Time management skills.
Electrical skills and certification (license A and B) will be considered an asset.
Working Time:
40 hours per week, weekend shifts included.
