HireHound Recruitment in Malta is currently looking to recruit an ELV Technician to join their client's team on a full-time basis. 

Overview:

The ELV Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of extra low voltage systems, including security, surveillance, fire alarm, and other related systems. The technician ensures that all ELV systems are installed and functioning according to industry standards and client specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, technical proficiency, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Setup

  • Install and configure ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and data networks. 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to perform installations.
  • Run cables, mount devices, and connect equipment as per project requirements.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform regular maintenance and inspections of ELV systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, repairing or replacing faulty components as necessary.
  • Test ELV systems after installation or repair to ensure they are operating as intended.

3. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs for reporting and future reference.
  • Stay updated on the latest ELV technologies and best practices.

4. Client Interaction:

  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical support.
  • Provide training to clients on the proper use and maintenance of ELV systems.
  • Offer recommendations for system upgrades or improvements based on client needs and industry advancements.

Qualifications:

  • A technical diploma or certification in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an ELV Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and data networks.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
