Duty Maintenance

Best Western Premier Malta is currently looking to recruit a Duty Maintenance to join their team on a full-time basis.

JOB ROLE:
Ensuring the day-to-day operational functionality and appearance of the hotel by responding to maintenance requests, conducting routine inspections, and addressing immediate issues that may arise during daily operations.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to identify maintenance needs
• Report any issues related to safety, cleanliness, or functionality to the maintenance team
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff
• Address and resolve minor maintenance issues on the spot
• Perform basic repairs and adjustments to furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Replace light bulbs, door locks, and other small components as needed
• Be available for on-call duties to respond to emergency maintenance situations, such as power outages, water leaks, or other urgent issues
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to address and resolve emergencies promptly
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks
• Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
• Maintain effective communication with other hotel departments to address maintenance needs and coordinate tasks efficiently
• Document completed maintenance tasks and report to the supervisor
• Interact professionally with guests and address their concerns or inquiries related to maintenance
• Ensure a positive and customer-focused experience for all hotel guests
• Keep an inventory of basic maintenance supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed
• Properly store and organize tools and equipment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a hotel setting
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance tasks
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Technical expertise in various maintenance disciplines
• A good command of the English language
• Electrician's Licence A or equivalent.
