Carpenter/General Maintenance Person

Paradise Bay Hotel Limited in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Carpenter/General Maintenance Person to join their team on a full-time basis.

Role:

Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry and general maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Reports to:

Maintenance Manager and will liaise with all heads of departments as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment to identify issues and recommend solutions
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Assist in the planning and execution of renovation and remodeling projects
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar maintenance role
• Proficient in using hand and power tools
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in maintenance
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
