Shop Assistant

VJ Salomone Consumer Lines Ltd is seeking to recruit Full-Time Shop Assistant to join its current team. 

The selected candidate will report directly to the Shop Supervisor and will be willing to work between the hours of 1 pm and 8 pm. The main responsibilities shall include cash handling, use of POS system, selling, restocking and merchandising. The goal is to provide outstanding customer service and to increase the shop’s growth and revenue through sales maximisation. 

Other responsibilities will include:

• Ensure continuous high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service

• Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards

• Maintain a fully stocked store

• Ascertain customers’ needs and wants

• Recommend and display items that match customer needs

• Welcome and greet customers

• Handle Cash and manage point-of-sale processes

• Keep up to date with product information

• Accurately describe product features and benefits

• Follow all company policies and procedures

Although not mandatory, preference shall be given to candidates having the following requisites:

• Expresses a keen interest in pets / animals;

• Ability to speak, read and write in both Maltese and English;

• Willing to learn and possesses a can-do attitude;

• Responsible and trustworthy;

• Organised and able to multitask.
