Our client, a leading transport provider, is recruiting for a Quality and Safety Officer to join their growing team. Here, your duties will include;
Assist in the development, coordination, and monitoring of strategic and operational plans to improve Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental standards;
Conducting business re-engineering reviews on existing and new procedures with the aim of improving customer service, reducing cost and increasing efficiency, strengthening internal controls and consistency, and improving quality;
Liaising with the departmental teams to discuss changes in existing procedures, drafting new processes and preparing annual internal control audits;
Follow up on processes issued and amend as required, including the management reviews and control of non-conformities;
Carry out checks and reviews to ensure compliance with established policies relating to health and safety, environmental and quality standards across the organisation
Assist in the continuous certification and internal audits of ISO 9001, 45001 and other ISO standards;
Attend to the monthly Safety Committee meetings
Assistance and elaboration of Traffic and Occupational Accident reports as may be necessary to establish cause and identify improvements to mitigate risk;
Carry out alcohol and drug tests on employees as may be required;
Daily contact with the employees from all departments of the company;
Any other task assigned by the Health and Safety and Quality Manager.
Skill-sets and Requirements
Hands-on experience in quality (ISO Certification), implementing and monitoring standards will be considered an asset
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English
Result oriented with strong organizational skills
Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
Based in Malta
Education & Experience
Diploma / Degree level of education preferably in quality and safety background
Working experience as a Quality Coordinator or a similar position
