Quality and Safety Officer

Our client, a leading transport provider, is recruiting for a Quality and Safety Officer to join their growing team. Here, your duties will include;

• Assist in the development, coordination, and monitoring of strategic and operational plans to improve Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental standards;
• Conducting business re-engineering reviews on existing and new procedures with the aim of improving customer service, reducing cost and increasing efficiency, strengthening internal controls and consistency, and improving quality;
• Liaising with the departmental teams to discuss changes in existing procedures, drafting new processes and preparing annual internal control audits;
• Follow up on processes issued and amend as required, including the management reviews and control of non-conformities;
• Carry out checks and reviews to ensure compliance with established policies relating to health and safety, environmental and quality standards across the organisation
• Assist in the continuous certification and internal audits of ISO 9001, 45001 and other ISO standards;
• Attend to the monthly Safety Committee meetings
• Assistance and elaboration of Traffic and Occupational Accident reports as may be necessary to establish cause and identify improvements to mitigate risk;
• Carry out alcohol and drug tests on employees as may be required;
• Daily contact with the employees from all departments of the company;
• Any other task assigned by the Health and Safety and Quality Manager.

• Hands-on experience in quality (ISO Certification), implementing and monitoring standards will be considered an asset
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English
• Result oriented with strong organizational skills
• Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
• Based in Malta

• Diploma / Degree level of education preferably in quality and safety background
• Working experience as a Quality Coordinator or a similar position
