Operations Manager (Mechanical and Electrical)

Job Description
Mike Farrugia Contractors Ltd in Malta, is looking to recruit an Operations Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Directors, the successful candidate will be expected to efficiently manage the M&E section of the company including the operations of the site projects manager and his team of tradesmen of around 12 to 16 personnel.

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate all the operational activities of the company related to Mechanical, Electrical, and ELV contracts, including the planning, effective and efficient use of the company’s human resources.
• Keep good relations and manage sub-contractors efficiently on the company’s sites.
• Manage and direct the overall performance of the M&E team including recruitment, training, and appraisals.
• Manage and liaise communication between the technical office, supply chains, and sites.
• Ensure that contracts are implemented on time and in accordance with the pre-determined estimates, budgets, and time frames.
• Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity and implement operational plans.
• Prepare competitive quotations and tenders for prospective clients. Prepare payment applications and hand-over certificates of all projects in hand.
• Negotiate with suppliers, sub-contractors, and clients within pre-agreed and approved parameters.
• Responsible for the procurement of materials to ensure timely delivery to sustain the efficiency of all the sites and control of the materials being consumed by the company employees.

Requirements:

• Be in possession of an HND in mechanical and electrical installations.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Be fluent in Microsoft applications.
• Possess very good leadership, organisational, and planning skills.
• Have the ability to work under pressure, be assertive, and with good negotiating skills
• Be a problem solver and will be expected to work on your own initiative
