Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

A client of ours specialising in the Manufacturing and Retail industry, is currently looking to onboard a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to join their team of professionals:

Duties:

• Oversee and provide direction for market and competitor analysis, and provide leadership, direction and management for the market research function
• Provide support in the area of marketing strategy and management to C-level staff members
• Develop the annual marketing plan, strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve respective goals
• Handle business and market development, as well as market research and planning, all the while ensuring appropriate coordination with the sales team
• Provide necessary leadership and support for the design, development, and implementation of products and service lines
• Make use of data analytics skills to ensure that relevant and accurate data concerning market and customer trends is available for long-term, financially feasible and sustainable data drive recommendations to the CEO
• Ensure all marketing communications are coordinated to support marketing plan objectives, and are an effective expenditure of resources
• Provide input and support to the company’s leadership in the development of joint ventures, affiliations and partnership arrangements
• Coordinate marketing efforts of resellers, including international resellers, with strategic plans and objectives
• Provide marketing skills and expertise to the company by building, developing and managing a marketing team capable of carrying out the necessary marketing strategies and tactics
• Participate fully in professional engagements and activities related to the target industry
• Prepare presentations related to the company’s current and future strategies and marketing objectives

• Ten years' prior experience working in a similar managerial role
• A proven track record of achieving results in well defined areas
• Experience in using data analytics to develop sustainable long-term strategies
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive a team towards successful target achievements
• Experience working in a similar role within the manufacturing and /or retail industry is a strict requirement.

• A Degree in an area pertaining to Marketing, with a postgraduate qualification will be considered an asset
