Legal Counsel

Our client, a well known Financial Services Provider is looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to join their team with the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Drafting of legal and general Group policies and procedures
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contractual documentation 
• Advising on company law matters, corporate governance matters and company secretarial matters 
• Advising and assisting the company secretary in relation to the preparation of board meetings; preparation of the AGM and company announcements as are issued from time to time
• Research work as necessary for the Legal Department
• Advising on legal action to be taken in case of defaulting clients and liaising with external lawyers 
• Ensuring compliance upon receipt of requests for information by competent authorities on garnishees and/or other warrants
• Liaising with liquidators in the event of client / customers that have been placed in liquidation
• Advising on shipping clients that are defaulting and liaising with external UK counsel when necessary
• Assisting the Head of Legal in the day-to-day legal issues.

• A minimum of 2+ years’ experience as a lawyer
• Solid knowledge of corporate and commercial law
• Excellent command of the English Language
• Ability to work independently and cooperate with different departments
