Group Head of Compliance

A highly reputable client of ours specialising in the Insurance industry is seeking a Group Head of Compliance to join their elite team of professionals:

Duties:

• Ensuring governance documentation such as strategy, Board policies, Terms of Reference and procedures are kept up to date
• Developing a compliance monitoring plan and ensuring this is implemented
• Acting as the point of reference for the Group Supervisor
• Advising on new operations, services and markets from a compliance point of view
• Ensuring continuous liaison with, and reporting from the subsidiaries’ compliance officers
• Monitoring revisions of legislation and/or regulatory requirements and assessing the potential impact on the Group
• Enhancing staff awareness and ensuring continuous training of staff on compliance matters
• Reporting at each board meeting on compliance matters
• Ensuring continuous liaison with and reporting from the subsidiaries’ compliance officers.

• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role and coming from the insurance industry
• Currently PQd by the MFSA or eligible to be so
• A sound understanding of regulatory and legal issues / subjects in general and of current developments especially Solvency II and other European Directives applicable to the insurance industry, and national regulatory requirements
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• Degree in Finance, Banking, Compliance or a related discipline or Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute(ACII);
