Environment Resources Authority in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Senior Officer II to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job details:

In the role of Senior Officer II (Administrative Support - Payroll), the employee is responsible for assisting the line superior in the management of functions and deliverables under the area of responsibility in line with the aims and objections of the Authority. The officer shall be responsible for the general office supervision and payroll administration as well as specialized support in the areas of office administration within the Human Resources Unit.

  • Administer and co-ordinate the payroll functions including collecting, calculating and entering data
  • Manage, monitor, and administer time and attendance
  • Assist employees and management in payroll related matters
  • Ensure that employees adhere with the payroll procedures and deadlines
  • Assist the Unit Manager in the compilation of Payroll reports for internal and external use and any other statistical reports required by management
  • Prepare monthly related reports and statistics
  • Ensure that payments are made in line with legal requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date records on payroll information, adjustments performed and documentation on the payroll reconciliation process
  • Assist in compiling Performance Appraisal
  • Assist in the development of performance management programmes as well as employee training and development
  • Preparing Employment Contracts and renewals, appointments, and probation letters
  • Manage and administer the software packages provided
  • Put forward recommendations on best practices to enhance HR operational efficiencies
  • Participate in the design, development and updating of policies and procedures and related information as well as oversee their effective communication
  • Ensure that confidentiality on employee information is always maintained; and
  • Keep abreast with Employment Law and other related Legislation.

Job entry requirements

Qualifications:

1. Six (6) O’ Levels including Maltese and English (MQF Level 3 Sec 1-5), AND

2. (a) Full Diploma (MQF Level 5) with 120 Credits or 60 ECTS as recognized by MFHEA (in Management or Equivalent) OR an MCAST Diploma (In Management or Equivalent) AND Three (3) years relevant experience OR

(b) two (2) A Levels AND five (5) years relevant experience.
