Bajada Lyons Group in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Payroll Executive to join their team on a full-time basis.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Executive with experience in Shireburn software to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time using Shireburn software
  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Comply with local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.


  • Proven experience as a Payroll Executive or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Shireburn payroll software is a must
  • Solid understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
