Are you an experienced Software Engineering or Product Development leader? As the Head of Technical Interviewing, you'll report directly to our Chief Technology Officer, Fredrik Ogren, and lead the Technical Recruiting Committee (TRC). The TRC is responsible for evaluating and interviewing all tech talent, ensuring each candidate is deployed into the right role based on their experience, skills, and business needs. This role is crucial as the TRC serves as the link between our global Talent Acquisition and Technology teams, comprised of experienced engineering leaders adept at assessing talent and ensuring we hire the right person for the right role at the right time.

The Wow

Join us in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where your expertise in technical interviewing and team leadership will make a significant impact. This is NOT an HR role; it's an opportunity for an experienced software engineering leader to work at the intersection of both talent and technology. You'll be at the forefront of our recruitment efforts, working closely with senior leadership to align our hiring strategy with our business goals and product roadmap.

A taster of what you will be involved with:
  • Lead Talent Assessment and Deployment: Oversee the tech hiring committee’s efforts to evaluate and select candidates, ensuring high standards in candidate quality and fit for tech roles.
  • Standardize Candidate Evaluations: Ensure that candidate assessments are rigorous and standardized across technical, cultural, and team-fit criteria, maintaining consistency and fairness.
  • Guide Committee Members: Provide guidance to hiring committee members to ensure they apply consistent evaluation standards and make well-informed hiring decisions.
  • Align Hiring with Product Development Strategy: Collaborate closely with the CTO and Product Development leadership to align workforce planning with business goals, addressing current and future talent needs.
  • Foster Engineering Culture and Team Cohesion: Work with Product Development teams to strengthen the company’s engineering culture, promoting alignment in hiring that enhances team cohesion and supports cultural fit within Betsson’s technical teams.

What we are looking for
  • Educational Background: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Advanced certifications in technical domains or management (e.g., cloud technologies, DevOps, PMP) are a plus.
  • Work Experience: Several years of experience in senior technology leadership roles (e.g., Engineering Director, Head of Engineering, CTO, Principal Engineer / Architect...), with extensive software development and product management expertise. Proven experience conducting and leading technical interviews, particularly in software engineering (FrontEnd + BackEnd), system architecture, DevOps, and cloud technologies.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Passion for People & Culture: A strong passion for recruiting, assessing, and onboarding talent, with a focus on people and culture topics.
What we offer
  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary, performance bonus & LTI eligibility (T&C apply).
  • Private Health Insurance: Comprehensive health coverage.
  • Wellness Allowance: Funds to use for fitness activities or mental health care.
  • Remote Work: 10 days per year of remote work from any EU location + non-EU (T&C apply).
