Country Terrace in Gozo is currently looking to recruit a Sous Chef to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:
We are looking for a creative and experienced individual to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the kitchen staff, ensuring the quality of food produced, and helping to create new and exciting dishes.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four years of professional cooking experience, preferably in a high-end restaurant setting. They should have a strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation practices. They must also demonstrate a passion for food, work in a rotation of food and a desire to create new and innovative dishes.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Manage and direct the kitchen staff to ensure that all food is prepared and served in a timely and professional manner
  • Monitor food quality and ensure that all dishes are prepared according to the highest standards
  • Create new and exciting dishes, as well as modify existing recipes to create new flavours
  • Monitor kitchen inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are following health and safety regulations
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order
  • Assist in menu planning and cost control
  • Assist in training and development of kitchen staff
  • Preferably already in Malta.


The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They must also be able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.


Country Terrace is a little cottage transformed into a restaurant with indescribable panoramic views and extraordinary cuisine. Our restaurant has become the only place in Gozo which offers such a savouring view of the Mgarr Harbor, Fort Chambrey and the three sister islands, Kemmuna, Kemmunett and Malta.
