Nu Cafe', the latest Vecchia Napoli concept, located in St. Julian's, Malta, is currently seeking to recruit a talent and creative Mixologist to work on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional coffee and beverage experiences, coupled with a flair for artistic presentation and innovation. This role requires a high level of expertise in both coffee brewing and mixology, ensuring our guests receive a unique and memorable service.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft and serve a variety of high-quality coffee beverages and specialty cocktails with precision and artistic flair.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, continuously innovating the menu to introduce new and exciting coffee and cocktail creations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with patrons to understand their preferences and recommending personalized beverage options.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination between food and beverage offerings.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions to enhance product knowledge and skill development.
  • Manage inventory of coffee beans, spirits, and other beverage ingredients, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Stay informed about the origins of coffee beans, brewing methods, and mixology techniques to educate and engage customers.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a skilled mixologist in a high-end or upscale setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and equipment.
  • Proficient in creating visually appealing and delicious cocktails.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse clientele.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering a premium customer experience.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.

The role involves working in a young and dynamic environment, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and evenings.

Candidates must be living in Malta, hold a valid work permit to work in Malta and a clean police conduct.

Pizza e Passione! La Vivienda scugnizza, the street urchin’s meal, has conquered the tables of the world. Here at Vecchia Napoli, we have left no stone unturned to bring the very best of Neapolitan and indeed Italian Pizza to your table. Our Pizzaoili has spent several weeks in Milan with Massimo Francavilla, the Pizza champion of Europe, and in Naples with Ernesto Cacialli, who chose to prepare the Pizza for President Clinton during his visit to Naples. The wood-burning oven, forno a legna, was constructed by maestro Fornaio Uglo dall’Oglio, whose family has been in this trade for four generations. The wood is slow-burning beech or oak, cut down in sustainable woodlands. Having learned the trade from the Masters, we have imported our essential ingredients, our flour, tomato, and mozzarella from the same producers that supply them. We have done our best to offer an interesting choice of Pizza. Some traditional – foremost amongst which is the Marinara, which most of you will be surprised to see has no fish or seafood! – and our own recipes. The all-time classics, Margherita and Marinara are available with both the thinner, crispier costiera crust as well as with the traditional bordo alto Napoletana, puffier and lighter.
