Kitchen Assistant
Lyons Care in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our elderly care home, ensuring the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly and contribute to the well-being of our residents.
Your main responsibility is to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment, supporting the cook and assistant cook in providing excellent meals for our residents.
Key Duties:
- Perform all cleaning schedules within the kitchen and dining areas, completing required documentation
- Organize and maintain cleanliness in kitchen stores, fridges, freezers, and other equipment
- Prepare and set up the dining room, including table layouts before each service
- Clear and dismantle tables during and after meals
- Deliver room service food when required
- Maintain an inventory of cutlery and crockery and ensure dining areas remain orderly
- Assist in dining room operations during meal services, ensuring smooth running
- Report any faults or maintenance needs in kitchen or dining areas
- Provide input for improving kitchen systems and operations
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
- Mentor and train new kitchen assistants when needed
- Relieve the cook as required, under the direction of the Home Manager
- Undertake additional tasks to ensure smooth operation of the establishment.
Requirements:
- A valid food handling license recognized by local authorities (with renewal when necessary)
- Willingness to attend training programs to enhance knowledge and skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering excellent service.
