The Xara Palace in Malta is looking for a Food & Beverage Supervisor to join their fantastic and dynamic Food & Beverage team on a full-time basis at the Medina restaurant.

Nestled just off Mdina’s main Cathedral Square, within the enchanting alleys of the Silent City, The Medina Restaurant is a hidden gem, brimming with natural charm and historical elegance.

The Medina Restaurant is adorned with Romanesque features, offering a truly unique dining ambiance. The honey-colored stone walls, the captivating internal courtyard, and the classic garden setting transport our guests to another era, providing an unforgettable culinary experience.

The impact you’ll make:

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager and Restaurant Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day running of our Medina restaurant ensuring that members and guests receive the highest standard of service and hospitality making their dining experience a memorable one.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • You will be the face of the outlet, communicating with the kitchen and the guests alike ensuring a smooth and memorable experience 
  • With the ability to motivate staff, communicate effectively and take control of a situation, the successful candidate must lead by example, and assist, promote and support the continuous development of the restaurant’s operations; 
  • The selected candidate will also be expected to assist the Outlet Manager in ensuring compliance with the Food and Beverage standard operating procedures and deliver on-the-job and mandatory training as per Xara policies and procedures; 
  • Regular guests are known and greeted accordingly using their name; 
  • Ensure good working knowledge of food and wine. Be able to make recommendations; 
  • Up-sell and maximize sales revenue whenever and wherever possible; 
  • Handle any guest complaints or problems promptly and ensure that all resolved/unresolved incidents are reported to the Outlet Manager; 
  • Act on your responsibilities for Health and Safety at work; 
  • Keeping records of all staff training and schedules.

Requirements: 

  • Previous Food and Beverage experience are essential; 
  • Previous experience in a high volume/fast-paced environment; 
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills; 
  • Micros Experience would be preferable; 
  • A team-player attitude; 
  • A warm, people-oriented demeanor.
