Deli Coordinator

Jesmond Micallef Meat Market in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Deli Coordinator to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Description:
We're seeking a passionate individual to lead our cheese and charcuterie haven, delivering an unforgettable experience for cheese lovers and charcuterie adventurers alike. As a Deli Counter Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that our customers have a delightful shopping experience. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting and serving customers, offering assistance, maintaining a well-stocked counter, and upholding cleanliness standards in the deli area. Additionally, you'll be expected to collaborate with fellow team members and assist with various tasks across the shop as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Warmly greeting customers as they approach the deli area, providing attentive service, and addressing any inquiries or requests
• Developing a comprehensive understanding of our products to effectively assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions
• Ensuring that the deli counter remains adequately stocked throughout the day, replenishing items as needed to meet customer demand
• Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal in the deli area, including regular sanitization of surfaces and equipment
• Collaborating with colleagues to support efficient shop operations and contributing to a positive team environment
• Willingness to assist with additional tasks or duties as required to uphold the shop's standards of excellence.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Proficiency in spoken and written English language is essential for effective communication with customers and team members
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and a passion for meeting the needs of diverse clientele
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers and work cooperatively within a team dynamic
• While previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement – we welcome candidates with a willingness to learn and grow with us
• Knowledge of the items displayed at the delicatessen counter and appropriate skillset behind the counter to portion, pack and present the products requested by the customers
• Flexibility to work shifts within the shop's operating hours, including weekdays and weekends.

Working Hours
This position operates on a shift basis within our shop's opening hours:

• Monday, Wednesday and Saturday: 7:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
• Sunday: Closed
