MaltaPost p.l.c. is seeking to recruit a dedicated full-time Health and Safety Officer to join our management team. The successful applicant will play the leading role in promoting a culture of health and safety throughout the Company.

Job Details:

Reporting to the CEO, the Health and Safety Officer is tasked with the following key duties:

  • Conduct Risk Assessments associated with work activities, work sites, tools, and equipment
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and inspections of processes and facilities in line with Regulatory and Policy compliance
  • Develop and conduct training programs on health and safety awareness
  • Monitor, investigate and report incidents
  • Co-ordinate emergency response drills and be a key member of the Incident Response Team
  • Consult with the Health and Safety Authorities and other stakeholders (internal and external) on any day-to-day health and safety issues that may occur
  • Keep abreast of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and ensure that the Company is fully compliant.

 Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge required for the role:

  • The chosen candidate needs to be mature, proactive and with strong observation and analytical skills
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills to create and deliver reports, presentations and training materials
  • S/He must be fluent in the Maltese and English language
  • The chosen candidate should possess a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent) or a degree in Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Have good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
  • Candidates should be conversant with all MS Office applications.
